Personal Statement
The game of football has taught me many things, and it has helped me grow as a person. I have learned to be confident in myself and my ability to know what I want, and go after it. I have learned how to cope during hard times and push through pain. I have built bonds with my teammates that would have been impossible without the sense of brotherhood you get out of being on a team together. Football has become much more than a game for me, and it is my hope that it will help me get admitted into an elite academic school where I can contribute to a successful football program, create lasting bonds with my teammates and peers, and create a bright future for myself.
I am an incredibly hard worker. I have been called a perfectionist because once I put my mind to something, I have to master it. I take pride in my grades as well as the multiple varsity sports that I play. I will put in the extra hours, both academically and athletically to make sure that I succeed in whatever it is I am doing. Also I am a team player. I recognize that what is beneficial to the team has priority over what is beneficial to me personally, and I will make sacrifices for the greater good of the team. At the same time I know that it is necessary to fight for what you want in life, and I pursue my dreams with confidence and passion. I see myself as a well-rounded student athlete who makes a positive impact on the people around me.
