As a multi-athlete, I have l learned the value of hard work and the commitment it takes to be the best version of myself on and off the field. During my 2023 varsity football season, I was given the opportunity to be a starter on offense and defense, along with being on special teams as a punt returner and blocker. At the end of my first varsity football season , I was awarded “All Area Division 1-2 Receiver” , and was recognized for being ranked 8th in receptions in a single season and 11th overall for receiver yards in a single season in my high school’s history. Additionally, during my 2022 varsity Track & Field season, I was honored to receive the most valuable player.
During the 2023 football season our team lost in the first round of the playoffs, we took this loss as motivation and I intentionally kept a mentality of preparation and drive for the next season. During my junior and freshman year I was offered the opportunity to play varsity, but I sought to take those two years to develop my versatility and skills as a more well rounded player on junior varsity starting on both sides of the ball while also utilized to be on special teams as a punt returner and field goal blocker. A major obstacle I had to overcome during my freshmen and sophomore year that I learned as a football player is to persevere through discomfort and maximizing each moment. I was honored to receive player with the most yardage return when playing on junior varsity. Also, during my sophomore Track & Field season, I experienced the disappointment of coming short of making it to States, but I took it as motivation to put in the extra work towards making it to States next season along with the goal of setting a new school record in 300m hurdles. I have learned the value of versatility, resiliency and perseverance.
Currently, I hold a 3.2 GPA. I am a dual enrollment student as I work ahead in hopes of my college aspirations. While balancing my academics and athletics, I work a job on the weekends and serve my community by volunteering activities at my church.
I aspire to obtain scholarship opportunities to apply in my pursuit to play at the collegial level while pursuing a degree in technology and/or business.
My family and my faith in God are the biggest influences in my life. My family has instilled in me a good work ethic and I know God has blessed me with everything I have and that is why I serve with an attitude of gratitude. I have always loved sports and being active. I am very competitive and enjoy the opportunity that sports has granted me to experience achievement , and growth as a person.
