Personal Statement
Hello my name is James Lundy and I am currently a senior at Troy High School in Troy, Michigan. I have been playing football since the age of 5 beginning with the Pop Warner football league and out of all the sports I have ever played, football has always been the one I've loved the most. I have also had a desire to attend college since I was very young and that continues to be my number one goal. I plan to graduate from high school, attend college and explore majoring in areas such as sports journalism, kinesiology, or business administration with a specific focus on sports administration. My goal is to work in a professional setting that will keep me close to the game that I love, long after my professional career has ended. Football has been a mirror that has displayed my passion, commitment, team-focused attitude, respect for my coaches and team-mates and caring personality. It has also shown me opportunities I can improve in specifically as it relates to the areas of managing frustration and elements of distractions. One of my unique accomplishments was becoming a published author during my sophomore year in high school by writing a chapter in the book "Choices: Making Moves to Win!" Participating in this community outreach project was one of the best 'choices' I have made during my high school journey because I learned the impact and consequences of both good and poor choices. I also learned how important it is to constantly make good choices that move me towards my goal. I believe that having this understanding coupled with my athletic ability will serve me well throughout my athletic career and also makes me a good candidate for any collegiate team.
