My name is Gabrielle Bouzide and I am an opposite for the class of 2024.
My love for volleyball started in 7th grade and my biggest dream since then has been to continue playing volleyball in college. Playing for the past 5 years has allowed me to discover a leadership role within myself, I am always looking to encourage, support, and motivate my teammates on and off the court. I am able to put these skills to use at Troy High School where I am a varsity captain. I love helping not just my teammates but anyone and everyone I can. Which is why I want to major in communication sciences and disorders to become a speech pathologist. I also help coach new volleyball players at High Performance Volleyball Academy, where I have played club for the past three seasons. I always look to inspire the new players the way I was when I first started playing.
One of my favorite aspects of volleyball is getting to create such strong and long lasting bonds with the teammates, coaches, and the school/club. My mindset coming into every practice is to learn as much as I can and support my teammates. My drive and passion on and off the court is something that stands out about myself, when I put my mind to something I always follow through. I am constantly eager to try out new positions or plays and I love working through challenges. Whether it's in game or in practice, resilience and discipline is something I highly value. It allows me to stay calm and continue playing my best throughout tough matches. My goal is to fulfill my 7th grade dream, and continue playing volleyball at a college that is a good fit for me academically and athletically.
