I have been playing team sports since I was 4 years old. I have played soccer, baseball, and basketball, done wrestling and karate -- and my favorite sport is football. I am already looking forward to and planning for next season.
The thing that separates me from other athletes is that I never settle for anything. I am never happy with my performance. I am always striving to get more out of myself and push my athletic ability as much as I can each and every time I am on the field. My mindset during each game is that no matter who the opponent is or how I am matched up, I will always give 100% and come out on top.
As an athlete and a person I have confidence in myself, but not for the wrong reasons. I know that I have athletic ability and talent, and I know I have what it takes. That is what I try to prove to other people. Through football I have learned that I thrive off of those who doubt me -- it has been like that all my life. I play with a chip on my shoulder, and I prove them wrong every time. Nothing for me is or was ever given, I have always had to work for everything i do.
My teams runs a Wing-T offense. Because of that you would expect the split end/wide receiver not to get the ball so much. In my case, it is true that I don’t get the ball often, but every time I do get the ball, I make plays. I finished my Junior season with 400 receiving yards, 6 touchdowns and about 860 all purpose yards. I also was named Second Team All Conference for offense. I am a play-maker, and look forward to putting that skill to use for my next team, wherever I may end up.
