Personal Statement
My parents have played a significant role in helping me understand the value in surrounding yourself with high character people, and therefore my college choice is a very important decision. My youth track experience included competing on a national level, and helped me develop an appreciation for the commitment, discipline, and passion required to be the best. I have always had a passion for challenging myself to compete at a high level. Don Bosco Prep currently provides me that opportunity. I am challenged both in the classroom and on the field where our football program competes nationally each year. I have achieved a 3.96 GPA while taking all honor classes and will challenge myself with AP classes next year. On the field, I started varsity as a freshman, earned All-American honors, and had the honor of being appointed co-captain as a sophomore. I was invited to participate in the NFL Prep Academy at UPENN in my freshman year, and look forward to three more years of learning and applying the leadership training provided by the NFL. Serving the community has become an important part of who I am. I work at the Jersey City Boys & Girls Club with middle school youth on a monthly basis. This experience has helped me realize that helping others is very gratifying and something I will remain committed to. My goal is to earn a scholarship opportunity at a university that has a reputation for academic excellence and a highly competitive football program. At this point, I am confident that I can help a high character football program compete at a high level and win games.
