Ricardo Valenzuela '19 Recruiting Profile

My college goals are to graduate with a degree and future job placement. What makes me a great candidate for the team is my work ethic, my drive to succeed, ability to adapt to the team and my surroundings, and my readiness to thrive.  What makes me different in character is I'm able to overcome adversity, being from a military family I'm able to adjust to new people and able to be myself. I stand out from other recruits in athletics because I give a 110% everytime on an off the field, practice and game time, I'm very coachable, and a driven athlete. Academicwise I'm very different from everyone else because every 6 week grading period my goal is to get a 4.0 everytime and be a great student in class, I always aim high for my grades.

My freshman year I played for Oceanside high school, my sophomore year I played for Washington Union high school, both schools in California and my junior year I played in North Carolina at Northside High school and was able to be in the starting lineup all three seasons as well as maintaining a 3.7 an above GPA, which shows my ability to overcome obstacles and to adjust to new settings.
