Personal Statement

My dream is to go and play college football and get my degree in architectural design, especially if I am unable to play at the highest level. I thought my dream was over last year due to injury but I've recovered and I'm back on course.
I was interested in building/remodeling homes as my dad worked on ours. When I was younger my bother and I would go outside and design trebuchets and we always talked about building a club house for my younger sister...We never got around to it; but I always wanted to do it myself, just never found the time. Something else that I have become interested in is the Military and its service to our nation. I have started in MCJROTC this year so the Military schools could be an option for me.
I first started competing in football when I was in the 6th grade, even though I had asked my dad to sign me up when I first started public school, which was in the 4th grade. My mom and I talked about actually going to a "real school" instead of being home schooled. I was always to scared or to shy to talk with anybody when I was in elementary grades, so going to a public school was a really big change for me.
Not only would going to college be really cool, but it would help me further my education and help me later in life, also. Realistically I see myself having a family and owning a small business with a college degree in design.
The main three colleges I am shooting for are: Western Illinois,Tulsa, or Oklahoma State University. The possibility is that I won't make it to those three schools, so the door is wide open after that. I am biased with my choice of schools but even if i don't go to a Division 1A school, I am hoping for a 2A school, at the least. Because it would be nice to go to a larger 4 year school that will be able to compete, offer more class selections, and if nothing else an opportunity for a larger experience while getting the education needed to be successful and take care of my family, as well.
My dad always told me to "do my best, never give up, and never give in to what other people say, strive to be the best!!! And always remember that the choices we make today can dictate the life we lead tomorrow." That is exactly how I plan to go on through life, to be the best; because I don't want to do it just for my family, friends, my school, or to make my city proud, I want to do it for myself. I want to make good decisions. I want the chance to make myself better because I am the difference maker. I want to look back and say, "I had no regrets back in high school and college", I want to know that I pushed myself and I strived to be the best...thats all that I want.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
