Personal Statement
I was raised in an atmosphere where setting personal performance goals was highly encouraged for endeavors of high importance. I have applied this principle to both academic and athletic activities. I strive to meet and exceed the goals I have set for myself. The result of this approach was illustrated recently when, in the same week, I was inducted into the National Honor Society and named to the Suburban One League All League Team (first team offense and third team defense), and the 2013 Times Herald Offensive First Team All-Area. I have now set additional goals to achieve, both on and off the field. I anticipate reaching a weighted GPA of 5.0 and earn 5s on all my AP tests by the end of my senior year. In respect to athletics, this past winter season I was highly motivated by my foobtall coaches to join the wrestling team to stay in best shape possible and also improve on my overall skills (footwork, tackling, etc.) For next year, my goal is to be selected to the first team on "both sides of the ball" and to be selected by my teammates as one of the senior team captains. I have only been playing organized football since the 8th grade. Therefore, I feel I have a great deal of potential yet to be realized. With the foundation I have created academically and athletically, I have set my post high school goals of gaining entrance to an academically challenging college and playing football at a highly competitive level.
