My father has for as long as I can remember has told me, “You can do anything and become anyone you want if you are willing to do more than anyone else to get it.” As I have grown, those words have become my creed. Football has not been a lifelong pursuit like many who play the game. My dad did not push me into it. He encouraged me to find one or two things that I might be interested in and then pour everything that I had into it. I felt myself being pulled toward wanting to be a part of a team and I chose football as a freshman. I practiced everyday that first year and did not play one single down of a football game. During my sophomore year, I learned to play defensive end and began to see some limited play. It was toward the end of that season that I discovered long snapping and realized that could be my best way to contribute to the team. I sought out expertise and focused the entire off season on getting stronger, faster, and seriously accurate. That work paid off and my dad was right. I earned a spot on the varsity roster this year and I will be a contributing member of our State Championship bound football team.
I have a 3.94 GPA and I put the same amount of effort into school that I do on the field. I would like to major in Finance then pursue a graduate degree. The university or college that chooses me to become a member of their team will get nothing less than everything that I have on and off the field. I will represent my team, school, and alumni with honor, courage, and commitment. I will give everything that I have because anything less is not enough.
