Personal Statement
I am a 6' running back/strong safety from Memphis, Tennessee. I attend Germantown High School, coached by Coach Charlie White. I have been a member of the Varsity Team for 2 years. I started out playing defense, but this year I was the starting running back and strong safety. I also started on special teams as the kick off returner.I led Shelby County in kick off return yards until the end of September, 2013. I averaged about 7 yards per carry as running back for the 2013 season.
I was featured on WMC-TV as the Play of the Day on September 13, 2013. I was also featured in EXP Sports Magazine, an online magazine which exposes Memphis' hidden talents, as the Player of the Week in September, 2013.
During the summer of 2013, I attended football camps at Middle Tennessee State, Murray State, and the University of Cincinnati. My fastest 40 time was 4.5 at the University of Cincinnati camp.
Some of my interests include reading and learning about animals, attending Young Life services, and working with children. I have worked as a youth counselor at Camp Invention, a hands-on science camp and at New Sardis Baptist Church.
I am interested in attending a school that is close enough to home so that my family can travel to see me play. However, I will consider colleges that are not very close to home. I want to play for a coach who has my best interest at heart both academically and athletically. I have worked very hard to excel in football, and I would like a coach who will believe in me and give me a chance to use my football skills to help the team.
Although I have not selected a college major, I like science and animals. So, I will major in something that requires working with animals and science. My grade point average so far this year is 3.9.
