I am seventeen years old, yet I believe I have lived enough to see what separates one group of people from another. I believe that hard work leads to success. I have been fortunate enough in my life to see several examples of how hard work can lead to success. Hard work has taken me places in my day-to-day life that I never thought possible. If there is any one belief that I think about more and that makes me who I am as a person, it is this statement: I believe that hard work leads to success.
I believe that if you work hard at anything in life you can become the best at it. Sometimes it's not about who’s more naturally gifted, smarter, stronger, or even faster. It is truly about who is willing to work harder for the goal that they want to achieve. I know I can work towards an academic, athletic, or personal goal and achieve success through hard work. As my coach, Mike Norman, once said to me, “You will only truly be happy with yourself when you look into the mirror, at the end of the day, when you’re all alone, and you can take a good long look at yourself and say, ‘ I gave it 110% and I have absolutely no regrets.’”
I'm not the strongest, fastest, or smartest kid in the world, but thats okay because I am willing to work harder than anyone to reach my goals and will push myself, teammates, and the people around me to be the best people they can be.
