Personal Statement
I believe that I would be an asset to a program both on and off the field. On the field, I am committed to the team, the coaches, and my teammates. I strive to be a leader by example that my teammates admire and enjoy playing with. As an example, in the fall of 2019, my high school's first year in existence, I helped some of the younger players (freshman) who had not played before with technique and positioning. One of my teammates fathers told my father how impressed he was that I cared enough to work with the younger guys. I did this because I wanted my younger teammates to enjoy the game, improve, have fun, and help the program. Another example was my position switch. In the fall of 2019 I was a sophomore in a new program that had no seniors. I tried out for tight end. I am quick and I have good hands, but there were juniors ahead of me who were going to get the majority of the playing time. The coaches suggested that I move to DE / DT and I did. In 2019 I played junior varsity and I learned the defensive line and played well. My coaches liked my aggressive play. Virginia did not have football in the fall of 2020, so I will be playing my junior year in the spring of 2021.
Off the field I am a hard worker in the classroom. I am taking honors and AP classes. I would like to study engineering in college.
In addition to football, I also wrestle and throw the shot put for the high school teams
