Personal Statement
My name is Jake Martin and I am a three year OL starter for the Chiawana (Pasco, WA) Riverhawks. In my 2013 and 2014 seasons I was blessed with the opportunity to participate in the Washington State Football 4A Championship Games, finishing 1st and 2nd respectively. Our 2013 and 2014 Championship Teams averaged almost 40 points per game and almost 500 yards of total offense per game. In 2014 we set the stage for our running back, Austin Urlacher, to break the Washington State 4A record for most yards in a season with nearly 3000 total rushing yards. My football life consists of hard work in the weight room and on the field, along with countless hours of watching film.
My longer term goal, a goal I have had since playing Grid Kid’s as a young boy, is to play major college football. I believe my dedication, work ethic and heart will drive me to achieve that goal in time as well.
Along with football, I am dedicated to the classroom. I understand that academics come first. Throughout my academic career I have been enrolled in “Honors” and “Advanced Placement” classes. I spent my entire Junior Year on a College Campus as I qualified to take courses at community college through a special state program reserved for the top 5% of students.
I currently have a 3.6 GPA which I will improve to over a 3.7 GPA upon graduation. I am driven, determined and guarantee I won't disappoint you on or off the field.
