Hello,
My name is Rhett Stenslien. I am 17 years old and a Junior at Westby High School. I am a three sport athlete, however, football has always been my favorite. I have been playing tackle football at the local level since third grade. I am most drawn to the physicality of the game. I also greatly enjoy the camaraderie that grows as the team works together to put a plan into action and achieve.
My career goal is to be a full time Firefighter/Emergency Medical Responder. I am beginning that training this year through a high school to college outreach program offered by Western Technical College in LaCrosse, WI. Furthering that certification with a Bachelor’s Degree in Smoke and Fire Science or Criminal Justice would greatly benefit my career path and a desire for high levels of success.
My career path connects directly to my strong belief in team. The brother/sisterhood in a fire station is exactly like a football team. We practice and work together so we can respond together. Our work is not for individual reward but to achieve success and celebrate together.
