One of my main goals in life is to continue to become a person who can know how to follow. I realize that I may be young and sometimes I want to just get out there and just do my thing, but I have to learn how to slow down, follow instructions, which would make me a better person. My mother has always asked me, "...how can you lead, if you don't know how to follow...". When she first said this to me, I didn't understand it, then it hit me one day, that (1) how can I tell someone to do something that I am not willing to do myself and (2) how can I guide anyone around me, if I do not know how to tell them how to get to point A to point F. You can't lead everyone the same way, because everyone is different, with different personalities, which means you have to approach them differently.
I feel that my skill sets and my work ethics are hard to match. I know I am not the best and there is always someone better than I am, but I get in the gym early, to work on things that bothered me from the previous game or to scout the next team so I can know what their tendencies are, so I can be better prepared for whatever comes my way. I want to guard their team's best player. It helps me to gauge what I need to work on and where I am as a player.
Even though I have my strong points, I also have my struggles. I struggled with my academics at times, but I try to create an equal balance, where I can and get help where I need. It is a continuous battle for me, but one that I will not give up on. To me, this is what makes us human. The ability to recognize our flaws and try our best to become better in the areas where we are the weakest.
Thank you for taking the time out to view my profile and look forward to talking to you all soon.
