Personal Statement

I would like to play collegiate basketball for a great coach who wants the best for his players on the basketball court and off. I want to help create a team that supports each other through the tough times, just as much as during the good times. My opinion is that the best teams are those where we all will do whatever it takes to win and we push each other daily to be the best players and students we can be. One of the best parts of playing a sport are the relationships that you build, both on and off the court. I am looking for a program that supports its players in earning good grades and getting their degree, while also having elite competition at both practice and in games. I promise to lead by example in both the classroom and in the gym.

  • I learned how to watch film, in particular how to find the little things players do on the court, not just the highlights. I also learned leadership skills, how coaches love to see your eyes, I learned the meaning behind SCHAPE, and how I can use each letter as a tool to lead my team. I learned so much about posture, body language, and communication, that it is hard to put it all into words. It was an amazing experience and I'm planning on going back. I earned a white bracelet from another camper because he said I worked very hard and listened during camp.
