As a freshman, I was the starting Varsity point guard playing with primarily Junior teammates. As a freshman, I had to adjust to a leadership role right away. My role on the court was not just to be a leader but was to be aggressive on the offensive and defensive end. I was the youngest player on the team but led the team in many categories such as steals, assists, the fewest amount of turnovers per minute of play, and scoring while also leading the team in FG% and 3pt%. I finished 3rd on the team in rebounding. I got the honor of being selected to 2nd team All-Conference.
In my sophomore year, I returned to being the starting Varsity point guard, playing primarily with Senior teammates. I took on the leadership role, which this year was calling out plays, what defense we're in, and helping guys gain confidence. A lot of the games, I was playing against double teams or being face guarded and being denied of the ball, or penetrating and stretching out zone defenses. Many games, I was guarding the opponent's best player. I led the team in many key categories like assists. steals, fewest turnovers per minute of play, scoring, and 3pt%. My efforts gave me the honor to be 1st team All-Conference.
My junior year, I returned again being the Varsity point guard, playing primarily with Junior teammates. I took the leadership role on-again, I called out plays, what defense we were in, making sure guys always had their head up, and making sure they had confidence. A lot of games this year I was face guarded, denied the ball, playing against some double teams. When I got the ball, I penetrated the defense, stretched out the defense, and kept my teammates involved. On the defensive end, I was always guarding the opponent's best player. While doing all of those things I led the team in key categories like steals, fewest turnovers per minute of play, scoring, FG%, and 3pt%. I was second on the team in 2 key categories: assists and rebounds. My efforts gave me the honor to be unanimous 1st team All-Conference and All sub-state.
What would make me a good candidate for your team? My leadership skills and hard work fit well with any team. I'm very coach-able and focus on details. I have a work ethic and passion that drives me to keep improving my skills and never turn down the opportunity for hard work. I am a focused person that wants to succeed and do their best no matter what I'm doing. I have good grades with a 3.9 GPA and am a member of NHS. I have received many accolades in athletics and speech.
Thank you for viewing my profile. I look forward to hearing from you.
