Personal Statement
Hello my name is Dawson Crump. I am a 2017 Point Guard for Greenwood High School. I have had an aspiration of playing collegiate basketball for a very long time. I will continue to work hard to make this dream a reality. I hold myself to a high standard on the court and in the classroom. My coaches inform me that I am gifted with a very high basketball IQ and understand the game well. God has gifted me with many talents on the court that I appreciate everyday. I will be a great fit because I am a great teammate and do not cause trouble on or off the court. I take my school work seriously and my grades reflect my dedication. I am a leader on and off the court. I am among 12 juniors chosen in my high school for a leadership program. I am a player who rises to any challenge that is put in my way. I am a Point Guard who has an ability to score from anywhere on the floor and also the ability to read defenses and make appropriate passes. My wide wingspan gives my the ability to defend at a high level with many deflections and steals. I also play on the varsity golf team and I love it. I have been an All-State first team academic recipient for all of my years in high school in both golf and basketball. I dressed varsity my 8th grade year and have lettered my freshman through junior year. I am a young Junior with more growing to do. My MD tells me I have not reached my end height (growth plates still open). My dedication to the game is evidenced by time spent watching film and college games to grow as a student of the game.
