I aspire to be the best student-athlete I can be. I am from Australia and throughout my schooling I have always balanced my love of basketball whilst also excelling with my other love of learning in the classroom. I have always been a part of the accelerated learning in Australia due to my academics. In high school in Australia I was part of the master class which is for advanced and gifted students. As an exchange student at Biloxi high school I maintained a GPA of 4 across the 2 AP subjects of calculus and macroeconomics. I also attained an ACT score of 30 and would like to study engineering whilst playing basketball.
I have played basketball since I was 8 years old in Australia and have followed the club, representative and elite State Development pathway over the last 12 years. This is the highest level possible in Australia. As part of the Queensland State Development team we travelled to the USA (Los Angeles) in 2019 and I loved the experience and discipline it taught me. I am proud of the leadership positions basketball has offered me including captain of regional teams and the senior team at my high school in Australia.
I was very lucky to come to Biloxi, Mississippi in August 2022 as an exchange student for the cultural experience and a chance to continue to play basketball. My goal was to enjoy a different country and embrace the experience and continue to study here and play basketball at the next level.
Biloxi High School is a 6A school and along with a 24 - 4 record we were district champions and made it to the state quarterfinals. I played a different position/role this year to suit the dynamics of the team but still started every game and played the most minutes. My coach was always proud of my coachability and the extra work I put in on the court and off the court. I was the leading 3-point shooter and charge taker on the team.
My dad was a professional basketball player in the UK and is a highly respected coach in Australia for the last 15 years. I was very lucky to have been coached under his guidance and believe my IQ of the game is very high due to growing up in a basketball environment. We also won the State Championships in Queensland for the u16 age group, which is one of the highest honours in Australia.
I am highly motivated and always seek ways to improve and better myself; including my athleticism, my strength, self-reflection and taking every opportunity that comes my way.
I believe what makes me stand out from the rest is my coachability, my dedication to team practices, and that I aim to improve myself individually at every single training and game.
My next big ambition is to continue to play and study here at the next level in the USA.
