I began playing basketball at the age of two. While living in Atlanta,GA, my dad made sure that I would do something athletic and that I would love it. He bought me a Grant Hill basketball goal and everyday we would go set it up in the parking lot and just shoot for endless hours. There were days when he would put the goal all the way up just so I would not have a chance to dunk it. After the "mini workouts," we would bring it back upstairs and I would go find every ball in the house; he and I would have a 3 Point Contest and the loser would have to do 50 push-ups. I said all of that to say, at a very young age, I had developed a work ethic that has become second to none. I would be a great PG/SG for any team across the nation. Why? Because I absolutely hate losing. I know that every player hates to lose, but I know that there is no one that I will let work harder than me. I feel like I am the player that would bring that demeanor and intensity to every game.
I feel like I would stand out from other recruits because of my leadership ability. My mom told me," Leaders don't just tell someone how to do it, they show them how." And I live by that day in and day out. I understand the ability of the basketball itself as well. I've witnessed it take many people, and even myself, to many places. I have dreams of playing on big stages, winning national championships, and while doing so, excelling in the classroom. God, school, family, and basketball are the four things I care about most. I look to be a standout player at whichever program I plan to attend. Blending in has never and will not ever become my intention. Playing basketball is something I love to do, and it is a passion of mine. Continuing to play at another level is a literally a life long dream of mine.
In conclusion, I just want to make it clear that I will be the hardest working player at any program. I would impact the program in a positive manner and represent that particular program the right way. I may not have the height, but what I lack in height I make up for in heart! And with all the heart I have, I put my all into this sport. I understand that this sport is also a business; I will be completely mindful of that when on signing day! I strongly believe that my life long dream will be lived out.
