Personal Statement
I started playing basketball for a local city league when I was five years old and I’ve had an undeniable passion for the game ever since. I moved on to play AAU and then JV and Varsity for my high school. I’m a hard working student athlete who has the skill and talent to play at the next level. My collegiate goals are to play for a college that has my major. I want to be a part of a team where everybody is on the same page working hard chasing after one thing…a Championship. I want to finish out school and hopefully go on to the pros after that.
I am a great candidate because I have good size, a nice body frame, I am dedicated to training and to doing whatever it takes to get better and I have an edge to my game. I am very coachable. I listen and learn from what my coaches have to say and work to correct my mistakes. I take criticism and use it for motivation to improve my game. I have a great attitude on the court and I never come down on my teammates. I pick them up using encouraging words to help keep their heads and not lose their cool.
Off the court I volunteer at a local Christian Kids Camp/Church and also work as a sub-counselor when needed. In addition, I help my church feeding the homeless in the park on Saturdays.
What sets me apart from others is not only my dedication and skills but I value that my school work comes first before basketball. I am a Student Athlete. I work hard in the classroom and my GPA reflects my commitment. I am very respectful, kind, well mannered, and everything a young man should be to play college level ball.
