Max Kostman '23 Recruiting Profile

Growing up on a ranch in a small town community, I have seen first hand how important it is to pull together through hard work, dedication, and commitment.  I know how crucial it is to be able to lift each other up in difficult times and celebrate together in good times.  These are the same characteristics that I bring with me to the basketball court.  

Sports have played an important part in my life for as long as I can remember with basketball being my main focus.  My strengths are successfully passing the ball for an assist in intense basketball situations, ball handling, knocking down the 3 ball, and shooting free throws.  As a point guard, I am keenly aware of the need to create plays and strategies to get points on the board for my team.  I take great pride in dishing an assist to my teammates.    

As a student of the game, I know the importance of understanding my coaches instruction and being able to create moments on the court to capitalize on the team’s strengths.  I enjoy going to basketball camps and studying film to help increase my knowledge of the game and my opponent.  I have excellent interpersonal skills which allows me to relate well with my team and help keep spirits up and intensity high.  

I know how to balance my love of the game with my academic goals.  I feel my basketball skills, knowledge of the game, commitment to team,  and desire to play college basketball will make me an excellent candidate for your team.  Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
