Hello, my name is Isaiah Lucero. I am a student athlete at a 5A high school located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I have been involved in sports since I was 4 years old. The day I picked up a basketball was the day I fall in love with the sport. My passion for basketball has made it a high priority, an extensive commitment an important goal set by me and high motivation to always get better. Not only do I work hard on the court but I also put in work in the classroom. I have learned how to stay focused while having disipline and good time management skills. I am eager to expand my knowledge in the classroom. I am excited to learn new skills on the court that can improve my performance. I am determined to acquire knowledge and gain more skills not only in basketball but in life.
As I am entering the last semester of my senior year, I am getting excited to move on to the next chapter of my life. I have grown and will continue to grow with my academics and as a student athlete. I work hard, l put in extra work to make my dream of playing at the next level a reality. One of my goals for my senior year was to make a Captain position and I am proud to say I am a Captain. My senior season has came to an end. I received the John Hood award which is the top athlete of the year voted by all the coaches at my 5A high school. I have received player of the game and player of the tournament award. I have also received my first verbal offer. I am also doing well in my academics and have been on honor roll all year. I am still putting in work playing with ABC Club Traveling team. I am commited to continue to learn from my coaches, keep up my grit, be a team player and always give 100%. I am hungry and ready to play at the next level. I will be dedicated to my college team and to my academics. My long term goal is to get a degree in business and open up a barber shop. I have always set goals for myself and I work hard to accomplish them. What I have learned about myself is that I have a resilient spirit, I am determined I have a strong desire to follow my dreams even if it is difficult. I have a stong work ethic on and off the court and will put in the necessary hard work to be succesul. Life is a jounery and I am ready to ride.
