“If you had one shot or one opportunity to seize everything you ever wanted in one moment, would you capture it or just let it slip?” (Eminem)
These words are my personal anthem that ignite my existence. I have always been good at math, science and art. To capitalize on that, I’d like to major in either Industrial Design, Architecture, or Computer Engineering. Art is what gives my pulse a beat. I like the concept that computer engineering finds the practical use for everyday living. I also love that art can make people’s everyday lives better and more enjoyable. One of my greatest experiences was a summer spent taking classes at Parsons School of Design. All art springs from the past, which is why I also want to study art history.
Basketball seems a long way from Art and Engineering, but I do love them all. I have received many basketball awards. As captain and point guard at The Harvey School, I was voted the All Housatonic Valley Athletic League First Team, Most Valuable Player, All Tournament, as well as “Athlete of the Year” three years in a row when I attended The Windward School. I also won many championships with the AAU basketball teams that I played on: The Wiz Kids, Greenwich Stars, and New York Blaze. I have always been the point guard on all my teams. All my teammates and coaches would describe me as a loyal, hardworking, determined, and outgoing leader on the court. All of it - from my hard work to my curiosity in subjects ranging from Art to Engineering carry over to the classroom. I have been a high honor roll student since elementary school. I’ve continued this trend in high school as a Cavalier Scholar with a grade point average of 4.0 this semester. Although some of the classes I am taking such as AP Statistics, Honors Pre-Calculus, and Biology are challenging, my goal is to continue to challenge myself far into the future in all arenas, from the art studios to classrooms as well as on the basketball courts. You only get one shot! And I'm taking it!
