Personal Statement
My greatest periods of growth came during periods when people told me I couldn't.
My 9th Grade Year I was 7th man on the JV Squad, it wasn't good enough that I was the only kid in the history of the program to jump from 8th grade to JV, bypassing modified. So I accepted my role and worked twice as hard in the off season.
My 10th Grade Year, I went between 5th and 6th man on varsity but I always wanted more. Once again, I worked extremely hard in the off season.
My Junior Year, I became the leader on the team in all stats (except shot blocks) and helped lead my team to a state final. Even having accomplished this, I know there is still much work to be done.
I have one more year to achieve my goal of winning a high school state title and I plan on doing all I can to make that happen.
My work ethic is something that I have had all my life, it is in my blood. It will be the reason I succeed beyond high school, through college both academically and athletically, and after college in life. I am always striving to be the best I can be as a person and I want that to reflect and motivate the people around me.
In conclusion, I will contribute to the community, in the classroom, and on the team. You will want to be playing with me and not against me, because I will motivate my teammates to have the same drive and desire as me.
