Last year I received our team's MVP award and also received a second team all conference award. My goal this year was to help my team be successful and place myself in a position to possibly get recruited so I can play at the next level. I am naturally one guard but I have learned to play the two guard due to the need for scoring on my team. I am very comfortable in both roles.
My primary strengths as a player are my ability to see the court, ball handling, driving to the basket, team leadership, and creating shots for my teammates along with controlling the tempo of the game. My speed and ball handling abilities play a vital role in my ability to create shots for my teammates and myself. I take great pride in my work-ethic and devotion to the game. In addition to playing basketball I also play high school tennis and unified bowling. I am not just focused on being a disciplined and dedicated athlete, but I am also focused on being the best academic student athlete I can be. During my freshman year, I was forced to be online due to COVID restrictions in my school district. This experience really hurt my grades as evidence in my transcript. However; I have bounced back and I am currently a senior in high school and a sophomore in college at Columbia Basin College and will be graduating this year with a high school diploma and my Associates in Arts and Science degree with an overall GPA of 3.00.
If given the opportunity to play basketball at the next level, I can assure you that I will work hard to improve and make myself the best student athlete possible. I hope you have time to review my videos and feel free to offer any feedback you feel necessary to help me grow in my basketball career. Please be assured, if given the opportunity to play for you, I will work hard and dedicate myself to my coaches and my teammates.
Next year I will be graduating from Othello High School and from Columbia Basin College with my Associates of Arts degree. I will be going into elementary or secondary education and I am considering being a PE teacher as my mother is a teacher and my father is a principal. I love being part of a team and working towards a common goal together. I hope this AAU summer season enables me to grow as an athlete and continue to build on my current skills as an athlete and a young man. I sincerely love the game of basketball and truly believe that I can play at the next level. Creating a future through the game I love would be an unbelievable experience for me. I look forward to working hard and becoming the best player I can be through my hard work and dedication to the game. I am excited about what's to come in my future.
Thank you
