My name is Aidan Brocco, I am 5’10”, 150 lbs, and still growing. I am a Junior at Island Trees High School with my graduation year being 2020. I’ve been the Number One golfer on my school team for the last 4 years. Playing against all the best players in my school division for such a long time has helped me to perform very well under pressure. Playing in tournaments has also helped me this way. My tournament play this year started off a little slow, my first couple of finished were in the 90s, but at the end of the season I was scoring well in the 70s. I finished first in one 18 hole tournament this summer and came in second a couple of times.
This year, I led my team to an undefeated start at 4-0 which has been the best start in our school history. I have one more year of high school eligibility and hope to continue my career playing college golf. Being able to play golf in college is a goal I know I’m able to achieve. I have focused on perfecting my swing, and get a lot of distance with my clubs. My main goal right now is to get my scores down to be consistently in the mid 30’s for 9 holes, and low 70’s for 18. My focus going forward will be on perfecting my short game that will lead to the consistency I am looking for. I lowered my scoring by 8 strokes this past year mostly by improving my short game and there is still room for improvement. I know what I need to work on and am motivated to get my scores even lower. I’ve been playing golf since I was three and playing in junior tournaments since I was eight. I have shown improvement each year and am motivated and confident in my ability to get even better going forward.
