Personal Statement

I have been playing golf for as long as I can remember. Over the past year, I realized that I want to turn my number one hobby into a commitment to play at the collegiate level. My game improved the past year and the opportunity to play the number one spot on our high school varsity golf team exposed me to some very talented golfers. In getting to know them I better understand the personal commitment necessary to play in college. Over the next 12 months I plan to take my handicap down to 2 or lower. In my senior year I plan to be a scratch player or better.

Math and science are my favorite courses and I am looking forward to sharing a similar success that my family has found from their college education. I plan to maintain my current 3.9 GPA and turn my academic skills and interests into a Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science major at a top university in those majors. If given an opportunity to compete both academically and in golf I will dedicate myself to competing at the highest level in both.
