Personal Statement

I have been playing golf since I was 3. I started out with a plastic club and a ball, hitting it around it the backyard. As I got older, I started to play the game with my dad at our home course, River Greens Golf Course. I would ride in the cart and watch my dad play with his group. In junior high I won the end of the season tournament with a score of 40. Now a year farther into my future, I have finished my freshman year. I lettered as I played in all 22 matches. I was the deciding score to put my team into the district tournament. I shot 87 from the blues in districts. That was my first time playing from the blues ever. I got better as the year went on. I hope to continue my golf career through college and hopefully at a professional level.

Annual JH Golf Invatational
I was 2 over on the 9th hole. I saw that there was a large crowd gathering around the 9th green. The pressure got to me. I made double on the last hole. Even though I still won the tournament, I still felt that I had made a big mistake. So when the time came for me to redeem myself I pulled through. In the sectionals we got out by 8 shots. On the last hole #27 at River Greens golf course I walked up to the tee. I saw that there was a crowd bigger than usual. It reminded me of that moment last year when I was in the same situation. I ended up lipping out the birdie putt and making a tap in for my team to go to districts.
