Personal Statement
Living on a golf course, I was able to learn the game from all aspects of the sport. At a young age, the rules and manners on and off the course were instilled in me. I had the opportunity to play at an early age with special permission from the golf pro due to my advanced skill. I will always be grateful for the opportunity. My passion for golf matured as I grew self-respect. By senior high school, I became a competitor on the varsity Golf Team as a freshman. My high school years encompassed many recognitions including being captain of the varsity team for two years, MVP WPIAL Section 2 (2014), playing four years on the Best of the Best Team, finishing second in the Westmoreland County Coaches Association Tournament, finishing first individually and team in section play, WPIAL qualifier for two years, and being named to the Section All-Star Team for three years. I also was honored with the Denise DeNunzio Memorial Low Net Award for two years.
Having the opportunity to develop into an adult through learning the game of golf, I bring these same manners into the classroom. I have a great respect for my teachers and coaches and appreciate all the important lessons they have taught me. I look forward to utilizing my leadership traits at the collegiate level where I will be a team player. I have learned course management as well as time management for my studies. My leadership skills on and off the course will help keep the team cohesive. I look forward to learning life skills as well as golf pointers from my collegiate coach that I may carry into my next journey.
