Hi coaches and scouts,
Hope you are doing well!
I am a big 6'4" power forward with strong skating skills and very good hockey IQ! My goal is to play professional hockey. I have a very good skill level, an accurate shot and am a good stick handler for my size. I am a strong, physical player and am not afraid to mix it up along the boards. I’m very good at creating turnovers for my team in scrums. I am a quality teammate that will follow through on expectations. I am currently playing in my rookie year with the Okotoks Oilers of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.
Last year (2022-2023) I played for the NWCAA U18AAA Flames (Calgary). We won our AEHL league title, the western Canadian U18AAA title and went onto the national championships in Quebec. This past offseason I trained with DASH here in Calgary. My education is important to me and I look forward to earning a degree in either business or science degree (to be determined). I was the recipient of the Circle K Classic Scholarship in December 2022). I look forward to hearing from US Division 1 colleges regarding their hockey programs.
Sincerely,
Thomas Matte (2005)
