Personal Statement
I aspire to play DI hockey and obtain a degree in engineering. I am a shut down defenseman (mucker/grinder) with a strong physical presence on the ice. I am an intelligent, adaptable, hard working and very coachable player. I am a team player and always try to make the play that best serves the team. I believe that my greatest on ice attribute is my vision and ability to defend and then move the puck up ice quickly. On the bench, I will always uplift my teammates and be the teammate that I would want to have. Positionally, I have good speed in all directions, and always position myself in front of the net to prevent scoring opportunities. I have played several sports to include baseball, basketball, soccer, volleyball (2022 HS tm CPT) and obviously ice hockey. I have also been part of a youth orchestra and play multiple musical instruments. I am the son of an active duty Army Officer & Army Mom, from whom I have learned: Treat everyone with dignity and respect; do the right thing - especially when no one is looking; choose the hard right over the easy wrong; never mistreat or take for granted those loyal to you and; if it needs to get done, don't wait for someone else to do it. In addition, my father was an NCAA Division I Collegiate student-athlete. My mother was a highly successful and highly recruited high school athlete. Both of my parents have post graduate degrees and they emphasize the importance of education and that "student" comes before "athlete" for a reason. Finally, as a military kid, I have had to move a lot. Due to this, I have played on many teams since starting hockey. While difficult, this has enabled me to be very adaptable to new teams, coaches and systems. In closing, I feel that I would make a great addition to whatever Junior and/or Collegiate team chooses me. I look forward to hearing from you coach. - Aiden
