Personal Statement
I am a physical, skilled defenseman and my goal is to play hockey while I am getting my college degree. While I focus on defense first, I will not hesitate to join the rush as the situation dictates. I am a right shot but I can play either side. After playing USP3 with the Jersey Hitmen as a 16 year old in 2016/17 I moved on to play Tier 1 Elite U18 with the NH Jr Monarchs for the 17/18 season, relocating to New Hampshire and changing schools from the Portledge School on Long Island to Bishop Brady HS in Concord, NH. After my year in NH with the Monarchs I moved to play in the NOJHL with the Espanola Express. I stayed in Esplanola for 35 games before getting an opportunity with the Hampton Roads Whalers of the USPHL. I have learned a lot since leaving home for NH, ON and now VA with Hampton Roads. I have learned that to lead it's by your actions on the ice, on the bench and in the locker room, not because of a letter on your jersey. I have learned that to be part of a championship team (Hampton Roads) everyone has a role to play and everyone must play their role at 100%. Like Bill Belichick says, you need to know how to "do your job". Even if it means not "showing what you can do". If you're needed to do that, your coaches will tell you. You just have to follow the plan. I have become a great teammate. I have a 92 GPA between Portledge and Bishop Brady and a 1320 SAT. I am looking for a college or university that values both great academics and athletics and hope to pursue a degree in either Engineering or Business.
