While being pushed to the side throughout my youth hockey years, it made me open my eyes to what needs to be done to make it to the next level. A few years ago I was smaller than others, which led me to work on speed and smart decision making with the puck, as height came later on. Currently, I make sure I push myself everyday to make sure that I do not take opportunities for granted.
As my goals are to play college hockey and get a degree in Business, while doing so, I find that being a defenseman requires being smart and physical when needed. Something I learned about myself is that, I do not hit for no reason, I enjoy playing smart and having a, stick and then body, mentality. While some might see me as shy or quiet, it is because they have not talked to me, or gotten to know me. I am an open person and able to fit in well with other players, while stepping up and saying if something, I find, needs changes.
