Personal Statement
Since I started playing lacrosse in kindergarten it has been my dream to play on the collegiate level. I enjoy the sport now more than ever because as I have gotten older the people who I play against have become more and more experienced increasing the challenge of the game. This is because of the more competitive teams that I have been playing on in the last couple of years. In the last year, I have been working on my defensive voice and making my presence known when I am on the field. I would be a great addition to any lacrosse program due to my focus, skill set, positive attitude, commitment, and effort on and off the lacrosse field. I currently play on the elite Nor Cal Braves team for club, and the Urban Blues for my school. In the BCL west (my school’s league) I have gotten honorable mention two years in a row for goalie and I am shooting for first team next year. While I love my school team the competition is not there and the kids on my team are mostly first year players so I prefer to play with my club team. I have, in the past; played with team Booth, team Nor Cal, and All West Elite. On all of my combined travel teams I have gone to a total of three tournaments out of California. I have gone to Tri-State, the Chicago Cup, and the Ohio cup.
I am very interested in studying engineering and mathematics in college because I hope to become a structural engineer after I graduate. I am looking for a school that has a challenging engineering program as well as a good lacrosse team. Sailing is my other sport outside of school and I am going to begin competing in the fall of 2013. Last summer I sailed across the Atlantic Ocean on a 37-foot boat.
