Jack Neiger 2022 ...Personal Statement
I have followed a unique path to playing goalie, as I first played as a defender from a young age. I always loved the speed, physicality and adrenaline of playing goalie. As a 3-year starter and 2x Varsity Captain at my high school, I recorded 237 saves with a 60.2 save percentage earning 1st Team All Trinity League and MVP honors as a sophomore. As a junior, I finished the season with a 61.3 save percentage and earned the Trinity League Defensive Player of the Year. I also currently have a 4.29 GPA and a 34 ACT superscore.
Playing as a defender allowed me to develop strong fundamentals and grow my lacrosse IQ. As goalie, I use my knowledge of the game and defense to my team’s advantage as I can command the field and help my teammates’ positioning. I push myself to keep learning and improving my game every day. This summer I will be playing for Cali Gold and West Coast Starz along with the New Balance All-America West Highlight Team.
