Personal Statement
I am a 2015 Defender on the Varsity Lacrosse team at East Lyme High School, and I have been playing for 9 years. Lacrosse has been a part of my life since third grade. As a sophomore I played Varsity for East Lyme High School. In the off-season I play with the Connecticut Cardinals and Fierce Lacrosse. My Cardinals coaches for the 2013 summer season, Chris Landry and Paul Deon, depended on me to direct the defense and help out with the team. My coach for Fierce Lacrosse, Judd Andres, had me as a starter on the Varsity and Elite levels during the summer. I have always been open to play any position when needed to. I have played all positions and over the summer my team relied on me to take face-offs with a long pole. My fellow teammates constantly come to me asking for advice or general questions about lacrosse because they know I have much interest for the sport. I aspire to play lacrosse at the next level. Lacrosse has taught me leadership and gives me a positive outlook on life. I go to Yuhas Performance Training to train for lacrosse and keep me in great shape in the off-season. When I am not playing lacrosse, I enjoy coaching the young recreational programs in East Lyme that I grew up with. I also am a certified referee for the youth programs. For the past three years I have been an assistant coach at Blueprint Lacrosse Camp in Westerly, Rhode Island. In general I like helping people, I am a former Fire Fighter for Niantic Fire Department. I also am involved with Leo’s Club, which is club based on local volunteering projects. I want to go to a school that is a good academic and athletic fit. Getting a good education is my number one priority for picking a school. I have no preference on size, location, or level of play. I believe that hard work and determination can get me through any obstacle that I run into. I always want to keep lacrosse in my life no matter where I end up.
