Personal Statement
I first picked up a lacrosse stick at the age of 7 at my older cousins’ house. I loved watching my cousins’ catch, throw and especially score. Picking up on my interest, my parents’ signed me up for the 3rd grade PAL lacrosse and I’ve loved it ever since. I was lucky to have an awesome coach who stayed with us through 7th grade and his words still ring in my ears when I’m playing today. My PAL coach recommended club lacrosse and I’ve been playing on club teams since 5th grade. I love all sports, playing watching and learning about them. I like the sense of community and brotherhood. I like to be part of a group of guys who will give it their all for their game and their team, both on and off the field, this is important to me. I play competitive club soccer, and have been on varsity soccer, ice hockey and lacrosse teams since 9th grade. But my love for lacrosse is unique because I think it highlights my natural athletic strengths. I’m not the biggest guy on the field but I try to make up for it in effort. My speed, quick hands and vision allowed me to place fifth in total points in the Nassau County, Long Island NY varsity boys lacrosse private school rankings. I have wanted to play college lacrosse ever since I was a young kid. I have strived and worked for this goal both on and off the field for as long as I can remember, whether it’s in the classroom or out in my backyard with a lacrosse stick. I always try to give 110 percent to the game and my team. Since birth my parents have taught me about the value of being a good and compassionate person. And I still to this day believe that and I always try to make the right decisions not just for myself but for the person standing next to me, whether I know them or not. Academically, my interests are varied and I am undecided about my course of study in college. I have carried a maxed out course load junior year and plan to do the same senior year. Currently my priority is to have a strong senior year and find a college where I can learn and play.
