I have worked in brick and stone masonry since I was ten years old during the summer months. I understand what it means to work hard and be dedicated to doing your best. Others count on you. You count on them. Without teamwork there is no unity. Without unity there is no set goal that a team can accomplish. I have played lacrosse since the 7th grade. I played Varsity my 8th grade year. I have been a starter every season. I take my position seriously and I take team camaraderie very seriously. If you are not a well-oiled machine ready to work together you might as well not even think about putting on your gear and walking onto that field. This sport is about unity. Our sport's history speaks of it throughout time. We are to do our best, leave our all on the field and have no regrets. We are to embrace each other's accomplishments and share in the mistakes of others. We use these are learning tools to better ourselves as a team. There is no room for cursing, derogatory or inflammatory speech by a player, parent and especially a coach. Integrity, honor and accountability is what matters. If a coach, player, parent or official cannot display this behavior, then they have dishonored the sport and the young lives they have encountered.
