Personal Statement
I aspire to become a college athlete because I have a burning passion for the game. I want to hone my skills at the highest level I can play. Furthermore, I want to obtain a scholarship to fund my studies because I aspire to be an orthopedic surgeon, and tuition would otherwise be unaffordable.
Besides the ability to initiate a counter-attack, calm decision-making, overall quickness, and precise passes, I possess coachability, respectfulness, and intelligence. I believe these traits are imperative to have in college athletics. What sets me apart is my ability to learn quickly and adjust accordingly. When I first started playing soccer competitively in 9th Grade, my first touch wasn't great, I couldn't dribble well, and I was indecisive. Now, I have a reliable touch, I can dribble without thinking, and my improved awareness has accelerated my decision-making. Lastly, I feel my academic performance sets me apart. My cumulative GPA is 3.93, but my GPA for the current year is 4.625. I only take AP and IB courses.
