I been told that as soon as I was walking, I knew how to dribble a soccer ball. You see, I have been on a soccer field since I was born. I came from a family of soccer players; my dad playing for high school and my older brothers playing club, high school and adult league. Before I could walk, I crawled on a soccer field. It’s not just in my family, it’s in my blood, it’s what I was born to do.
I started in AYSO, and I joined club when I was 8 years old. Moving to club was a different experience from AYSO, a different level and a different commitment. It wasn’t easy, learning that this would take dedication and commitment if I wanted to reach my goal. At this point I needed to decide how much I wanted this.
During the pandemic, it was difficult to accept that soccer was at a standstill, no practice, no training and no games. This was my hardest obstacle to accept but I didn’t…I was more determined to train, watch videos to enhance my skill level and do whatever I needed to do to move forward during this time. My mindset changed, it was more determined and not willing to accept defeat. During the pandemic, I started running daily, trained daily and watch many YouTube videos to enhance my playing ability and increasing my speed. This pandemic helped me become more focused, responsible and determined, even maturing with my thought process on a strategic level.
In high school, I was one of two sophomores that made the Varsity team. Each game I started and played all or most of the games.
I would like to continue my soccer career into college and explore different opportunities available in the soccer world.
