Alexander Hofmann '25 Recruiting Profile

I am a Junior at Los Altos High School in Los Altos, California and a midfielder on the Bay Area Surf MLS Next team. 

In the 22/23 season I was on the ODP Cal North State travel team and won the ECNL Northern California division with MVLA. In my Sophomore year I started on the Varsity team, which reached the semi-finals of the CCS playoffs, and was elected to the All-League first team. Additionally, I was elected player of the tournament in the pre-season Sunnyvale Cup. My freshman year I was the MVP of the JV Soccer team and was nominated to the ECNL NorCal All-Conference 2nd team. 

As a player, I am strong both technically and tactically. I anticipate opponent’s moves and create opportunities for my teammates and have successfully played the 6,8,10, and 9 positions at a competitive level. My strong technical ability helps me execute the plays to set up teammates or score myself.

I took my first steps in club soccer in Germany at FT Gern, Philip Lahm’s youth club in Munich. Since moving to the US in 2016 I have been playing with MVLA, and since 2023 with Bay Area Surf MLS Next.
