Personal Statement
Although we did not reach the finals, for a school that has never in its history of soccer reached the playoffs, making it to the semi-finals in the CCS playoffs as a freshman made that experience a significant achievement . Making history at monterey high as a freshman helped me center my focus to breaking more records and attaining titles. DUe to the circumstances and environment I grew up in soccer has played a critical rolr in my life. At the age of 7 soccer shifted my attention to winning trophies and awards, while preventing me from staying on the streets. Soccer has demonstrated the true meaning of dedication, discipline, and team work. Not only do these virtues apply to soccer, but life; these virtues have shaped my character to bring me a long way in school .
As the first generation in my family to graduate high school I'm proud of all the support I've received throughout the years to reach where I am today, and I'm not going to stop until I graduate college with a degree. I would like to pursue a career in the engineering field. Through out the years I've had to overcome people; telling me that I wouldn't make it anywhere in life and classifying me as a typical uneducated athlete, and on thr other hand financial support was an issue for me and my family going through school. All together though all the experiences growing up I have attained leadership skills through being captain for my club/varsity soccer team and commitment through the focus and dedication I put into school and soccer.
