Hello, my name is Alexander Ibarra. I am a 9th grader at Coliseum College Prep in Oakland CA and will graduate in 2027. I have a 4.0 unweighted GPA, and a 4.4 weighted GPA. I am a left footed center back and left back. I have 7 assists and 1 goal in the fall season. I am currently playing for East Bay United 2010 NPL team.
One of my strengths, which is my passing and composure out the back. I have many different types of passes and can pass over short distances even with a man on me. I can also create opportunities to score with my long balls over the top. Another strength I have is intensity and stamina that I have developed through running cross country and track in addition to my soccer training. I started cross country two years ago and have been increasing my speed and stamina. This has made me a better soccer player because my overall fitness and speed has vastly improved.
One of the weaknesses I am trying to improve on is my aerial presence. As a 2010, I was only able to start heading last year, so it’s something I am starting to learn how to use effectively. Another thing I am working on improving is my interpersonal relationships. My club coach says that I have a “warrior like mentality” however he would like me to be more understanding of my teammates who do not have the same intensity and for me to learn how to inspire my team to push harder. I have to keep my communication with my teammates positive to keep them uplifted.
