I am looking forward to being allowed to continue my lifelong passion for soccer in college.
During the next four years, I want to continue a healthy and self-sustaining lifestyle side by side with searching and finding what I want to do later in my life. A huge part of being creative and productive academically is to have teammates and friends who can count on me and whom I can trust in return. Coming from The Loomis Chaffee School, I believe that I have acclimated myself quite well to the "life away from home," as well as being faced with adversity when balancing my intensive training every day with a hefty school workload is a trait I am most proud of achieving.
After a day devoted to school work, I look forward to bringing a productive attitude to the team during practices and games. There is no better feeling in the world than to succeed in a new team as we become more familiar with each other's qualities and personalities. At the blow of the whistle, I enjoy the pressure that comes with staying laser-focused on building a lethal offense or switching roles on a dime to be relentless and tenacious in defense.
Being bi-cultural and having played in NYC and Connecticut competitively, I have been exposed to teammates, coaches, and adversaries from all horizons. My multicultural heritage has helped me navigate all kinds of paradigms of thinking. It has enabled me to have the ability to understand team dynamics as we all come from such diverse cultural backgrounds. It also gives me an edge, as I can adapt well to different coaches’ wishes and styles. Keeping my cool is what lets me think and move. I welcome the adrenaline of the last quarter of the field. Pressure builds as everyone strives to score and clinch the game, and I find myself navigating the field with control, not losing my cool as the pressure builds up.
I am grateful I have been given the trust of my coaches over the years. They trusted me. They started me 99% of the time, put me in front or on the wing, and let me be part of the team dynamic that creates wins.
