As a high school junior, my journey in soccer has been unconventional, yet incredibly rewarding. Unlike many of my peers, I started my soccer career later than most. But from the moment I kicked my first ball, I was hooked. Since that day, my dedication, hard work, and passion for the game have been unwavering.
Leadership has always come naturally to me, and I've had the honor of being the captain of my teams, both in club and high school settings. My dedication to the sport led me to be one of only 3 sophomores on the varsity team at Brookwood (7A program in Georgia), an experience that fueled my determination to push my boundaries further.
Currently, I find myself in Germany representing Hertha Berlin's U17 Integrated Academy. This opportunity has not only honed my skills but also broadened my perspective on the game. Playing in one of the world's most renowned soccer nations, I've had the privilege of immersing myself in a culture that lives and breathes soccer. Additionally, this experience has helped prepare me for the rigors of being a college athlete. We train 6 days a week, 2-3 times per day, and typically have games twice per week. We have training camps in Poland, Spain and Portugal, and during all of this we have to keep up with our school work and our every day responsibilities (laundry, gear service, etc.)
Academically, I am as committed to excellence in the classroom as I am on the field. I'm not just a soccer player; I'm a scholar-athlete, currently tackling college calculus and challenging myself with AP classes. My academic achievements are highlighted by my impressive PSAT score of 1500, showcasing my dedication to both my sport and my studies.
My strengths as a goalkeeper lie in my aggression, lightning-quick reaction saves, and a ground game that I've diligently developed, especially during my time in Germany. I take immense pride in the fact that most plays at Hertha Berlin start with me – a testament to my skills, strategic thinking, and ability to command the game from the back.
Looking ahead, my goal is to join a collegiate soccer program that mirrors my passion for the sport and my dedication to academics. I am not just searching for a team; I am seeking a family where I can grow as an athlete, a student, and a person. Moreover, I am on the lookout for a school with a strong foundation in math and science, fields that intrigue and challenge me as much as soccer does.
In conclusion, my journey may have started later than most, but my determination, leadership, and skill set make me a standout player. I am not just an aspiring soccer goalkeeper; I am a force to be reckoned with both on and off the field. I am eager to bring my unique experiences, skills, and unwavering dedication to your esteemed program, contributing my all to the team’s success.
