Personal Statement
I want to attend college for two reasons: first, I want to become a doctor and second I wish to play soccer. I am an exceptional candidate for any team because I am gifted academically, I have great leadership abilities on and off the field, and I love to play soccer. I play soccer for many reasons, but the main two are that it brings me joy and, at the same time, I'm able to bring glory to God. What separates me from other recruits is my drive, passion, love for the game, and academics. I always strive to do my best both in and out of the classroom. I will never settle for a B if I can get an A, and so far in my academic career I have never finished a class with something other than an A. My character separates me from other recruits because integrity is at the foundation of all I do. I've also set up certain guidelines in my life to protect me from doing something which could wreck my future. For example I will never put anything in my body that isn't good for me such as drugs, alcohol, or even junk food. Another example of always striving for my best is evident in the fact that despite me moving to a different school every year because of my Dad's job in the military, I still managed to be a stand out leader and selected as the captain of the last three soccer teams I played for. That includes two high school teams and my last club team. Another thing that separates me from others is my athletic drive. I am always looking for ways to get better and I can guarantee my work ethic will be better than the guy next to me. Finally, God has blessed me with many athletic gifts. Coaches and players often comment on my excellent first touch, my precision passing, my incredible ball control and my 'Rocky-like' stamina. I don't take these gifts for granted and strive to improve upon them every day. If I was afforded the opportunity to play for your school, I know I could help excel your program to win both on and off the pitch....and I wouldn't stop trying until we did!
