Personal Statement
Hello Coaches and Recruiters, my name is Zyon Meakens and I am currently a senior at Kenwood Academy High School in Chicago, Illinois, class of 2022. I have been playing soccer since the age of six. I currently play for both Kenwood and the Unites FC. On and off the field, I am a leader, where I served as captain of my soccer teams and an active member of community service organizations.
I am diligent in my knowledge of the game and disciplined in training. I practice drills, do endurance and strength trainings and run 5 miles a day, 5 days a week. As a leader, I have encouraged my teammates to do additional workouts above and beyond what our coaches require and expect. I am a lefty with equal skills on my right. I am confident that I would be an asset to any college soccer team with my skills, discipline, speed, and strategy of quickly learning about my opponents. I also love to review video footage to understand plays, increase my game and learn how to improve.
What set me apart from other players is that I know there is always room for improvement and I always look for ways to push myself harder.
