Growing up my soccer goals have been to play at the highest level of college soccer and then professionally. I realize those are high goals, but I believe goals should be set high and then I need to stay focused and do the work to achieve them.
My dad is a retired Army officer, so I have grown up learning that I am not entitled to anything in life, and that I have to be prepared to grind, be a team player, and pray to God for opportunities. While I'm left footed, I've worked incredibly hard in the basement and on the field over many years to become a both footed player, and to do my best to have awareness, play simple soccer when I can, and make tough plays when I need to. My dad played in a Germany for three years in the mid 90s, so I have grown up with an emphasis on high IQ, possession soccer, checking my shoulders, and playing selflessly, whether that means making the extra pass or taking the shot necessary to score for my team. One might say I am a European player who grew up in the United States. I am confident that you will see some plays on my highlight video that you just don't see typically on highlight videos for US players, particularly with my vision, first touch, and use of my weak foot (right).
After continuing to work on needed areas of my game and developing physically, I know that I will help any team improve its possession soccer, as well as on the training grounds and in the locker room. I have primarily played 8, 10, 6, and some 5 on the Midwest Region's ODP team for the last couple of years, but would be honored to play at any position where the coaches want me to play. My both-footed play, soccer IQ, and willingness to be coached allow for such flexibility.
Outside of soccer, my family, faith, and friends mean a great deal to me. My two older sisters are married, and my older brother is a senior in college. I also have a niece already, and a nephew is coming this summer. I primarily live with my mom, but also spend time with my dad, who only lives ten minutes away. Please don't hesitate to contact my club coach DJ McCoil, of VSA Rush, 763-458-1694. Thanks in advance for checking me out. I know I would be a positive addition to your program and look forward to being in contact with you in the future.
